A 1-night Campout, and 2-day, 3-day, 4-day, and 5-day options, all departing at 9am from the river 45 minutes north of Globe, Arizona.
Transportation to the put-in and back to your vehicle, all camping gear transport (via a dedicated gear boat), and meals from lunch on day one through lunch on the last day. Not included: the 9% land and water access fee or guide gratuity.
Guests must be 10 and up. Trips are capped at a maximum of 12 guests, and with only two commercial launches per day on this stretch, it’s a notably uncrowded, intimate way to run the river compared to peak-season day trips elsewhere.
Highlights include Corkscrew, Quartzite, and Blackrock rapids, plus the scenery of what’s often called the “Little Grand Canyon.” Wildlife sightings can include bighorn sheep, mule deer, and desert bald eagles.
Guides handle meal prep from scratch (including hot drinks delivered to your tent in the morning), set up a kitchen shelter and camp chairs, and provide a portable toilet at each site. You’ll camp riverside each night under a dedicated gear boat’s worth of supplies, not out of your own raft.
Yes, multi-day trips allow time to fish in the early morning and evening from camp. A valid Arizona fishing license is required.
Alcohol isn’t permitted before or during rafting, but is allowed at camp in the evenings on multi-day trips. Glass containers aren’t recommended given the remote setting.
The 1-night Campout is a good intro to overnight rafting if you’re short on time. Longer trips (3 to 5 days) give more time to explore side canyons, fish, and relax at camp, and cover more of the Salt River Wilderness.
