The only river in Colorado designated as “Wild and Scenic”, the Cache la Poudre provides excellent opportunities for whitewater. Close to Fort Collins and Rocky Mountain National Park, the Cache la Poudre offers technical, continuous rapids for the more adventurous as well as milder family trips, both with beautiful scenery.

The Cache La Poudre River is in the Roosevelt National Forest and is managed by the U.S. Forest Service.

  • Permit Details: No fee of any kind is required to float the river within the National Forest on public lands.
