You will meet our guides at Pinnacle Rock Access Point in Canon City, Colorado
Rafting experience is recommended, but not required. Anyone meeting the age requirement who is in good physical condition and is prepared to paddle for most of the trip is welcome to join us on the Royal Gorge.
Cold water gear must be rented ahead of time by contacting our office prior to your trip. You will be asked height, weight, shirt size and shoe size for anyone wanting rentals to ensure that we bring along the correct sizes of rentals.
The Royal Gorge section of the Arkansas River features mostly Class III and IV rapids, and at higher water levels certain rapids become Class V. It’s a section of whitewater best suited for adventurers looking for a fun challenge in an intermediate to advanced atmosphere.
Some of the most iconic rapids in the Royal Gorge include Sunshine Falls, Wall Slammer, Sledgehammer, The Narrows, and Boat Eater—each offering its own exciting challenge!
Reservations should be made as soon as you know your plans, although seats are sometimes available up to the last minute. Late registration is on a space available basis.Â
