The Taylor River, as it descends the western slope of the continental divide is surrounded by beautiful alpine scenery including views of the Collegiate Peaks. Beginning below the Taylor Park Reservoir this river is one of the fastest in the state. Choose from sections featuring continuous class three and four whitewater or the milder class two lower sections as the Taylor flows towards the East River, forming the headwaters of the Gunnison River.

The Taylor River is managed by the Bureau of Land Management out of Gunnison, CO.
- Boating Permit Required: NO
- Permit Details: No fee of any kind is required to float the river, but you do need to buy a pass to use the BLM managed and private access sites.
