Escape the Crowds. Get on the River.
It’s Summertime!
Go Rafting to Avoid the Crowds
Crowds descend upon Colorado’s mountain towns every summer, making it a little harder to eat at a restaurant, park at a trailhead, or find the solitude you seek on a forest trail.
The best way to escape those crowds is to head to the river, where a raft will take you into the wilderness or through a national monument for up-close views.
Browns Canyon Half and Full-Day Trips
When the water naturally drops in June, Brown’s Canyon raft trips become ideal for beginner and intermediate rafters.
Because of its incredible beauty, the Browns Canyon National Monument stretch of the Arkansas River is one of the most popular places to raft in the country.
Despite its popularity, there is plenty of stellar whitewater for everyone in Browns Canyon, not to mention endless and gorgeous Colorado views.
The Gunnison River
Limited access is allowed on the Gunnison River, so Wilderness Aware hosts only five, two-day raft trips each summer on this exclusive river. This means you will likely not see other boaters while floating down these waters.
We launch our two-day trips in the Gunnison Gorge at the end of the Chukar Trail east of Delta, Colorado. The whitewater rafting section finishes up near Hotchkiss, Colorado.
Arkansas River Multi-Day Raft Trips
Get the best of everything on a multi-day Arkansas River raft trip. Not only will you avoid the crowds by staying on the river, but you will also enjoy a private dinner and evening under the stars while you camp riverside.
Trip options include the adrenaline-pumping Numbers, the grandeur of the Royal Gorge, and the majesty of Brown’s Canyon. Camp riverside or book our Inn to Inn trip for the ultimate in comfort.
