Upper Salt River Canyon Adventure Travel Vacation!

The Salt River 5-Day Trip is one of the premier Wilderness trips in the United States. A lottery system for private river runner launch dates ensures that crowds will not degrade the experience that so many experienced boaters seek.

Combine several of the Salt River's best whitewater sections into an unforgettable multi-day journey where you'll experience the enjoyment of wilderness overnight camping by the scenic Salt River. Two-day trips give two days of the Salt River Canyon full day section and camping riverside. Three-day and five day trips travel farther and deeper into the grandeur of the Salt River Canyon system. Remote, inaccessible Jumpoff Canyon and the Goosenecks offer abundant riverside campsites that are accessible only by raft. Hear and feel the roar of exciting rapids such as Quartzite Falls, Black Rock, The Maze, and Corkscrew.

Five-day River trips provide an opportunity for total escape. We have the luxury of time to explore flowing creeks in beautiful side canyons, play games on sand beaches, and generally get into the flow of what we call "river time". Experience world-class whitewater, fascinating geology, giant Saguaro cactus, Indian ruins, and desert canyons carpeted in Sonoran Desert wildflowers. The Salt River Canyon is truly a hidden treasure of the southwest.

The Salt River is one of the most unique rivers in the country. Its location on the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau is at the crossroads of mountain and desert ecosystems, resulting in a striking variety of plant, animal and bird life. You'll descend through oak and juniper woodlands into the stunning Lower Sonoran desert with its towering multi-armed saguaro cactus. Several side canyon hikes lead to oasis-like microhabitats that are a delight to explore.
