Information for Planning a Private Boating Trip in Colorado

WHO WE ARE
Wilderness Aware is a commercial rafting company based on the Arkansas River in Colorado and the Salt River in Arizona. We also offer trips on the Gunnison, Dolores, North Platte and Upper Colorado Rivers. We offer only limited services for private boaters.

ARKANSAS RIVER PUT IN -JOHNSON VILLAGE
Private boaters may launch or take out at our private access near our headquarters on the Arkansas River at the Highway 24 bridge over the river in Johnson Village near Buena Vista. This is a take-out for trips launching in the Numbers or Narrows or even long trips launching in Pine Creek. Most commonly it is used for a put-in for Milk Run trips that take out at Ruby Mountain or Browns Canyon trips taking out at Hecla Junction or Stone Bridge. The cost for using the site is $5 per raft and $3 per kayak. Parking is free.

SHUTTLE SERVICES
The other service we offer private boaters is shuttle service on the Arkansas River above Salida and on the Upper Salt River in Arizona. Click here for shuttle information:
